Okay, Nic was whining that I hadn't posted here in a while, and with all the stuff going on, maybe I should. I don't want to sound like I'm fussing, but it's not all good, and yet, not all bad.

First of all, my oldest is finally getting out on his own two feet. He has his own apartment, though he shares it with a female room mate who ISN'T his girlfriend.. and he spends most of his time at her place .. and is thinking of moving in, but I'm old fashioned and try to get him to see.. If you're getting married eventually /anyway/... and you want to move in... .well, DUH! get married and move in! Don't move in first! You may be surprised, it's cheaper, and then she can support your school!
(only kidding about the last part! I'm sure he'll pay his own way eventually)

And child two, daughter.. 19.. has a serious woo-er... We never did the dating thing. Didn't figure they needed to mess up their already screwed up teen lives with that shit.. uh, stuff. SO, now, she's found a nice boy and they're getting serious, only she's taking it nice and slow, letting things go without any pressures. Heck, you need to be friends before you're lovers, right? Good thing big bro did it the same way - only he better NOT .. oh, never mind. *sigh*

Okay, and my baby, is now sixteen, as I think I stated before. He just got back from a week long trip to Minnesota as church camp counselor. He seems so mellow... *ponders the lobotomy line on the permission slip* maybe?.... And he seems prepared to do some growing up himself. It's about time!

Now then.. my mom... *sighs and frowns* She's turning 10 this month, on the 15th.. and the past couple weeks have gotten really, scary. We went to the ER a week ago, and they found nothing 'wrong' but sent her to the eye doctor because she complained of 'flashing lights' in her vision. Ha. Well, that happens to be A symptom of a TIA.. basically a minor stroke. So, this week, it gets worse. She can't walk straight. She can't sign her name without taking forever.. She forgets simple things. Only, all her heart tests are normal or better. The only indication is thyroid. Only.. those are also symptoms of Alzheimers. And that scares me. So, I hide in white wolf, and drive her to the doctors, and keep hoping for the best.

Meanwhile, she's giving me shit about "I've done all my living"... "It's so much trouble any more".. blah blah blah! What? Doesn't she WANT to see her grandkids married? Maybe see some great grandkids?? She even has a brand new grand baby. She's only freakin' 70!.. geez... don't give up already!

So, that's my rant. Have fun.

getting old

Well, next Monday, the 23rd, my youngest, my "baby" will turn 16. If that's not enough to give you grey hairs... Oh! wait! It already has!! *grumbles*

Actually, even though I did turn 44 last month, I don't feel much older than 25 as it is! I'm sure that when all the "aches and pains" of being "over the hill" realize that they've some how managed to miss me (except that nagging back pain shit) then I'll be over loaded with medications and procedures and.. *sigh* God, forbid that I ever get to that! I HATE doctors.. and I totally distrust the drugs they always want to shove down your throat. I think I'd rather suffer than end up on false relief. Besides... if I were to up and start on meds all of the sudden, like HRT for this "perimenopause", then I'd end up with less testosterone .. and a grumpy husband!! I like the hormones God gave me, and I'm NOT about to mess with them!
Now if you'll excuse me, I have a pornographic email to send to him. *waves*

Yes, Nelly was finally "rescued" and then shipped off from the hero's sight. Yet, the saga continues, and Nell's trying to stay sane.

Now, me... spend a long weekend driving to Houston with my daughter. Got to visit my sister and her new baby. Which was nice. But the purpose of the trip seems to have ended up in a discovery of what she (the daughter) /doesn't/ want to do rather than what she does. Which I guess for a nineteen year old is as important in the long run??

The drive - all 9+ hours each way, was actually pretty nice since she drove most of the way!

Well, hopefully this WW scene will be finished soon. It's an awesome SL, but it's been dragging on too long.

My flower garden is looking fab! In spite of the hail.

I'm now 44 yrs old (as of the 21st) but still only feel 25. My oldest and his girl are redoing our salt water reef tank for my birthday present. It's about time! I'm really liking my new pool cue - purple graphite *nods* and whuppin' hubbie's ass.

Today is Memorial Day in the USA, and so we're all at home, chillin'. I'd like to note and remember MY family who served, my Dad, LtCol JP Hollingsworth, USAF; my brother Lt (?) GS Hollingworth USArmy, my grandfather, Capt. Paul David Best, VFW; and a gggg grandfather, Nathan Hanks Best, served in the Confederate Army.

And to EVERYone else who gave their lives so that the freaking Hollywood celebs can bad mouth the President freely.

Well, I can see this is getting great reviews!

Perhaps I should comment that the garden is surviving; "Rikka" nearly drove me crazy, poor kid 'lost' his first really in depth character on White Wolf today and simply /couldn't/ stop harping on it!; and the right American Idol contestant was finally booted off! So long Carmen, you SUCK!

Well.. this sucks. I've spent weeks getting my flowerbed set up.. and last night it was pummeled by hail. Poor little flowers! Now, I've got to do damage control. And may have to replace some of them.

Did you know? On a survey of what is Important to men and women it was not surprising to have the first four items on the men's list to be "Sex". Unfortunately for them, the same item was at about 14th on the women's list of priorities. Good thing I'm not your average woman!
